Question Novasure procedure?

Has anyone had the Novasure (ablasion) procedure done? I've been having quiet a bit of spotting between my periods, and they are lasting 10-14 days each month. 2 different doctors have suggested ablasion to me, the most recent recommended Novasure. I've had an ultrasound down and there are no other problems. Any advice or testimonies would be appreciated - thanks!!

Re: Novasure procedure?

I had it done in March 2005. I had serious complications afterward but they were NOT due to that procedure. I have been very pleased with the ablasion. It didn't stop my periods completly, but they are very light and I have no pain. I was having severe pain with periods before so to have a period with no pain is wonderful! I know several other people who have had this procedure done as well and they have been happy as well. Some of them don't have periods at all anymore, some of them have light ones like I do.

Re: Novasure procedure?

I too need this procedure. I have a fibroid and polyp wich cause heavy bleeding and make me anemic. How much did this procedure cost? Hospital here in NC hasnt got back to me with a $ estimate. My insurance has a $15,000 deductible. I am so tired of this monthly craziness. Have booked a cruise for my 40th bday this august. Coincidently it looks like me period will be arriving then too. bluck

Talking Re: Novasure procedure?

My insurance totally covered this procedure. There was no cost to me at all. It was the best thing I have ever done.

Re: Novasure procedure?

I had the Novasure procedure done the first of this year. For a month after having it done it was awful. The bleeding was really heavy even alot of clotting. I went to several doctors because they all said there should of just been spotting. It was that some blood vessels were damanged during the procedure. After a month of really bad bleeding everything has been great and I haven't had anymore bleeding. I do know that I could still have periods but they shouldn't be like they were before I had the Novasure done. I was bleeding every month for two weeks. I don't regret having it done. Even all the trouble for the month afterwards. My insurance paid all but $400.

Re: Novasure procedure?

GREATEST thing I ever did and a total peice of cake. Going back today for a (sorry) foul smelling discharge, which Doc said could be sign of infection, easy enough to treat. SO glad I did this; I would bleed for 3-50 days at a time, changing tamps 15-25 times a day. Feel free to email me for more info. My Doc was an EXCELLENT woman here in Nashville. LOVED her.
