Re: How soon after conception will a pregnancy test show a positive result?
It takes 10-14 days after the egg is fertilized to implant and for your body to start producing the HCG hormone that the pregnancy tests detect. That is why most tests are accurate the day your period is due (ie: 14 days after ovulation). First Response Early Result works up to 4 days before your period is due, but it is only 66% accurate at that time, meaning it may give false negatives. They don't give false positives, so if you do test early and get a positive result, you can pretty much rely on it. You do, however, need to give yur body some time for the egg to implant or you will be wasting your money.
