Irritation... is this a yeast infection? - Women's Health Message Board

I've had this problem since I was a kid and I am pretty used to it and it comes and goes. I suspect it's merely a yeast infection that goes away in a few days.

But I get terribly irrated and it drives me crazy!
I've never been told what yeast infection is, or how u tell if you have one. Things like taht were not dicussed in my household. Anywhoo, I've come to just accept it, but I just wanted to knwo if what I'm having is.

So my vagina is irrated, all over and I have white discharge all over my vagina. I usually just wash and keep myself clean, then it goes away within a few dayz. Is this just a yeast infection?
Do yeast infections cause any damage? Or are they just merely very annoying womanly problems? Yeast sucks!

Have you ever been to the doctor about this problem? Sounds like a yeast infection to me. Have you ever used over the counter meds for it? Usually yeast infections are itchy, burning, thick white discharge. If you have BV that is more of a grayish milky discharge that smells fishy!!!! It is HORRIBLE! If you dont treat this the right way----it will keep coming back.

I don't go to doctors. I have a real... physical problem with being touched in such areas.. But yes what you have described is what's going on. I figured it was just one, I never use anything. I just have always left them.
BV doesn't sound to charming. Poor women, going through all these dumb things.
If I do have one, I think I will try over teh counter, if it doesn't go away. I've only had it two dayz. It is getting better now so, I'm not too worried. Okay. Thank you.

if you arent treating it and you "think" its going away..you cant be too sure..those things WILL come back. im sure you dont want that..so at least get something.
