About two days ago I was experiencing some irritation in the vaginal area. Then yesterday, as the irritation increased, I noticed a strange lump near the inner labia, just outside of the entrance. It wasn't discoloured or anything, but it was definitely abnormal. Today the pain has increased greatly, and I noticed a bit of red on the lump this morning.

I have not had any sexual interaction for quite some time, and even then it was not intercourse, so I know it isn't an STD. The lump is painful and embarrasing... Have any of you an idea of what it may be and what I can do about it?

Hmm,,,It could be a "Bartholin cyst" sorry im not sure if I spelt that right. There are 2 glands in that area & if they become clogged they can turn into an infection. sometimes they get so big they must be drained....I know,,,Yuck!

in the meantime,,do some reserch on it,,& if you have epsom salts, try soaking in it for 15 mins. twice a day. also a warm compress applied to the area may reduce the pain~~
