Yeast Infection and treatment! - Women's Health Message Board

About 5 days ago I started getting vaginal itching and redness. Along with thick chuncky white discharge! I read about it online and found out that it sounded like a yeast infection! So last night I used the Monistat 1 Combination pack right before I went to bed! After I put that cream on my vaginal itching was horrible and I couldnt stop itching it! It is like raw this morning! I was wondering when I should exepect the itch to go away and when all of the monistat 1 day should be out of my vagina? Has anyone else used this stuff before? thanks much!

I've used monistat before, but I used the 7 day treament and it did the trick. But then again I was pregnant and that's what my OB/GYN recommended. If it's utterly terrible to where you just can't stand it...sounds like it's right about there, I would make an appt. to go see your Dr. to make sure it is in fact a yeast infection. That's what it does sound like, but maybe he could prescribe you something else, pill form or have a suggestion instead of monistat to help your case.

You should be feeling better pretty soon. Consider that this is the weekend though, so if you need to call your doctor, today might be better than waiting until Monday. I've never taken the one-day treatment, but the seven-day cream used to stay inside and melt out over the day. You would need to wear a panty liner or pad.
