Hunger during menstruation

Does anyone know how to keep from feeling perpetually famished before and during menstruation? I know the feeling is greater than the actual need for extra calories, because I have to diet the rest of the month just to keep from gaining weight. Is there a particular type of food or vitamin/mineral that will quench the hunger?

It isn't going to hurt you to eat more around your period. Pick things to eat that are good for you like bananas and apples. Those are filling and don't add alot of calories. Taking a pill to stop hunger are never a good idea.

This sounds like a symptom of PMS........there are alot of things you can do for PMS. I used to have it severe..........make sure you drink ton's of water.....exersise helps...........all B vitamins, like B6 and B12 help. Try to stay away from salty foods (that makes you bloat) salt and sugar are hard, cuz that is what we crave! Doing all of this really has helped me, i no longer have PMS that bad...........I suffered for years!!
