Help on a yeast infection...

Hi there. I was on the triqular birth control pill for a good year or so. And I noticed that I was spotting always one week before my period. I assumed it would go away after a while or something and I went to see a doctor who prescribed a pill that was stronger than the one I was taking and so I was a bit scared of taking it. It was still going on for months after that. Anyway, I decided to stop taking any pills all together so I can get my hormones balanced and my head clear and whatnot. Hurray.

My problem is that when I stopped taking my pills, I started getting a rash between my vagina and my anus. I thought it might go away after a while. Can yeast infections go away on their own? Or by just eating yogourt? Anyway, I've had 1 yeast infection before and I saw a doctor for that. This time, I haven't seen a doctor. I have the rash symptoms and my discharge is a little bit thick/white. I'm assuming it's a yeast infection. Could it be anything else? I DID just get off the pill. I thought it might be herpes but I doubt it because my long time partner doesn't have anything wrong and I don't have headaches or fever or pain in my hips.

So I went to the pharmacy to pick up a pack of monistat or something and I noticed that there were so many other brands and the 1, 3 or 7 day treatment. I was just wondering, what's the best brand out there? and what is the difference between the 1-3-7 treatments besides how many days you use it? I know that the 1 day treatment's dosage is high and the rest is distributed evenly over the 3 or 7 days. Will there be any side effects to a high dosage? Which is most efficient?

Thanks for your help!

Hi There!!!!

Yeast Infections are not fun, I get them alot, they are so annoying. Anyway yes a Yeast Infection can go away on it's own, but you really should use some cream and eat lots of yogurt, it will help you feel better. Also you can
take the Diflucan pill too, sometimes that pill helps. I think that you should use the 1 day cream treatment, I can't remember what the side effects are,
but I think that it will kill the infection because it does have a high dosage.

You can use the 3 or 7 day treatment if you want to, but I just thought that
I should let you know that. I hope that you will feel better soon, I feel for
you.
