| Ovary cyst rupture and WBC
Hello all! A week ago I was sent to the ER by my dr. for possible appendicitis. I was nasueated, and in SEVERE pain on my lower right side, and my white blood cell count was at 20,000. After having a CT Scan, and 3 ultrasounds, they determined that a cyst had ruptured on my right ovary. I have never been in that much pain and not had a baby to show for it. They put me on antibiotics and got my WBC down to around 14K. I went in for a follow up Monday (after 5 days of heavy antibiotics) and my WBC has gone back up to 15.8K. I am still sore, but the pain isn't any worse and the naseau has completely gone. I'm not running any fever. Any ideas what this could be?? Also, when they were doing the ultrasounds they found a mass on my left ovary. My dr says it is either a lot of fibroids or a complex cyst. My questions are 1) can this be causing the high WBC count 2) is there anything I can do so this cyst doesn't rupture and 3) what can be done to get rid of it, hysterectomy, surgery to remove cyst, etc.
I see my gyn. next week, but really would like to know what I'm in for. Thanks.
