Question pain, pain, go away

hi, everyone.
i'm a 19 year old female and (obviously) new here. i'm rather modest so it's hard for me to talk about women-related issues, but i can't find answers anywhere else, so i figured i'd give it a shot here. for about two weeks, i've had an ache...it's sort of like a cramp (not in the stomach, but below that) but ibuprofin etc doesn't help ease the pain, and it's unrelated to my period (i just had it a week or two ago). there is also absolutely no possibility i'm pregnant. this pain varies in terms of intensity but it's almost always present in some way, and there are no other symptoms i have noticed (though i did have a bit more discharge than usual for a day or two afterwards, but i assume that is fairly normal).

i assume i have some sort of an infection, but i cannot find any information that seems to match this sole symptom. anyone had a similar experience or have ideas? i hate my gynecologist and was planning on switching before i actually had to have an exam (i went before for a breast related issue), she is condescending and intimidating and i don't feel comfortable telling her about any of this, but all of the other gynos in the area claim they cannot see a new patient on an "emergency" basis and the earliest anyone else could see me is in 10 days or so. i don't think i can wait and i'm kind of scared about what effects something like this might have the longer i wait... i hope it's not too serious... any thoughts would be much appreciated. thank you so much.

Re: pain, pain, go away

Why dont you try calling in to a doctors office, I know when I went to the dermatologist and I would have questions about my skin and things like that, I would call and talk to a nurse. They were really helpful and usually gave good advice. A nurse would probably know what was going on, (your probably do have an infection) and may be able to recommend over the counter drugs or even prescribe something for you. (The nurse I talked to did that for me). I would call the doctors office that you have been to because they have your records...or even a health unit or something like that...anyways..let us know how it goes.

Re: pain, pain, go away

thanks for the reply. i probably should call my doc's office - my parents have offered to call - but the problem is, i've known this woman since i was old enough to know anybody, and she's close with my family... i think i'd be way too embarassed to give her any specifics, even if she's not legally allowed to disclose them. anyway, i have an appointment tuesday with the gyno that i hate, i think i can stick it out 'til then (the pain was a little better today, so perhaps my body is taking care of itself?), and then have an appointment with a different one friday so i can officially change gynos and this "we can't see you because we don't know you" thing won't happen again. hopefully someone will know what's up, or i might go crazy. anyway, i will post again when anything happens, thank you again for your reply

Re: pain, pain, go away

I really think that it could heal itself. If it is like a cut, then it would only make sense to eventually heal...hope it all goes ok...let us know.

Re: pain, pain, go away

I know this might sound silly, but with your period being a week or two ago, do you think it could possibly be ovulation pain? Most women have more discharge (egg white consistency) when they are ovulating, and many also have that kind of ache. I usually have it for two days. The kind of pain you're having sounds exactly what I have when I'm ovulating.
