Repeated Infections - Women's Health Message Board

Hi everyone. I suffer from almost constant bacterial vaginosis. I have been treated with antibiotics a number of times and my clinician tells me that she thinks its because I might have ovarian cysts but I cannot afford to go to a gynecologist to get it checked out. My Mom had ovarian cysts so it is highly possible that I have them as well. Any advice?

Oh I should also say that I have been tested for every STD out there and am clean.

UMMM no way. Isn't there Family Planning where you are?? You should be able to get checked out for anything related to your area down there.

Oh and just so you know I'm 14 weeks and I'm having that same darn constant bacterial infection. I read that its just some women get them more easily because we have more bad bacteria that takes over the good kind. And pregnant women have them more often too.

Yeah the family planning clinic is the one that referred me to a gynecologist. And I'm not pregnant. So, what do I do?

You join this never ending battle with the rest of us that have bv. I've been dealing with this for years. I've seen different doctors. None of which seem to know anything. I think I know more than they do just from the research I've done myself on recurring bv. I eat alot of yogurt now, I rinse down that with vinegar and water very often. I also take acidophillus pills daily. I hope that this helps you somewhat. Good luck. I know just how aggravating this is. I just hope that I wake up oneday and it is GONE.
