mole removal from labia - Women's Health Message Board

Has anyone here ever had a mole removed from their labia? I have one that I am getting taken off on Tuesday and am not sure what the recovery is going to be like. My husband is off work until the next morning, but will I be fine chasing a toddler and caring for a baby the next day??

I actually had quite a few moles removed from the same area about 5 years ago not just one. I can't remember the recovery too much but will try to give you some insight.

I remember feeling very sore down there for quite a few days afterwards.
It was even painful to walk around. So I took it easy while I had the discomfort. And no sex for a while..

I wouldn't schedule any play dates and see if you can have help the next day too (a sitter or grandma) especially if your child is a handful. You will need to take it easy for a few days as it heals but for sure the day of and the next. Maybe with one mole it won't be as painful as my recovery was I don't know.

Most of all listen to the instructions that will be given to you the day of the procedure when you leave...especially if you think you feel better quicker...don't do anything you shouldn't before it's time.

Are moles down there common? I have this flat dark looking thing on my inner lip and it has an inregular shape and causes no pain. Could it be a mole? Or how do i know if its a mole?

You should show it to your doctor so hw can tell you if it's common in women to have these down there. Mine didn't hurt either.

I just had a pre-cancerious mole removed from under my breast a few years before and since I had so many down there I felt I should just remove them to biopsy them and because I didn't want to chance them becoming cancerous in the future. The biposy was fine by the way.

I just like to play life safe and since I have insurance and a wonderful doctor I did it without a second thought.

Show your mole to your doctor and ask him opinion. I personally think it's not necessary to have those there so why not remove them?

How is it being removed? I am having laser surgery to remove some abnormal cells down there (inner labia) too, and have posted questions as to what to expect but had no replies. I would be very curious to know what to expect..
