Question To Worry or not to worry?

Okay im 19 years old. I am on Ortho Tri Cyclen for BC. The last time I had sexual intercourse was end of May/ Beginning of June. I had a normal pap test on June 14/2006.

Since then I have had 3 periods, counting the one for this month, I noticed the first couple were a little bit different then usual, there was brownish discharge before my period, and it was a little bit lighter. I have just had this strange feeling in my stomach, and have noticed I have been producing more gas. I dont know if gas is what could be my problem, but I am a little scared.

I guess my question is If I took a HPT on the 3rd day of my last period, yes I took the test during my period, and the result was negative, should I just stop worrying or is there still a chance of pregnancy? because I have heard many cases where women have been pregnant with a normal period, so that had me worried. Thanks for all the help!

Re: To Worry or not to worry?

well, Im one of those women that have had that experience, of menstrating when i was pregnant. and its a possibility. But what i can recomend if youre not satified with the results of an HPT, then you can always have your HCGlevels checked by a blood test at the doctors and that is the most accurate way to know for sure

Re: To Worry or not to worry?

I guess if you have had three "periods" since the last time you had sex your pretty safe. The "periods" that happen during pregnancy arn't really a true period but some abnormal bleeding (not discharging your lining.) I would go ahead and take a HPT and if it's negative then you should be fine. As for the gas this is a problem that some girls just have to deal with. I have the same problem a few days before my period and a few days into my period its just your body doing its thing.
