Bleeding every other week

I have been bleeding every other week for a while now. This is weird to me. It first started happening after me and my boyfriend were together one night, and it was mainly whenever i would get excited i would start bleeding. That stopped after a week. Now i have started bleeding again, and this time it is a different color then normal. It is very dark. and i is also a lot thinner then it normally is. I have no idea what is going on. I am 20, and I am also on the birth control to regulate my periods. I don't think these are periods because the color and consistancy difference, and because I am also not cramping. which I normally have very bad cramos. If anyone has any ideas or advice on what I should do it would be great.

Thanks
