About 4 or 5 years ago I was punced fairly hard in the lower stomach. when I went to the bathroom later, I had some discharge and a small speck of blood. Around the same general time frame I started experiencing menstral cramps for the first time in my life. Not during every period though. One time the cramps were so bad I thought I would have to go to the hospital, but I took a warm bath, and that helped the symptoms go away. The cramps would usually only last one day, and taking mydol or putting heat to them would help. About a year later I started taking the bcp,and I have not had a cramp since! However, do you think that the blow to my lower stomach could have caused some kind of dammage that I should be worried about? It was a long time ago,and I feel fine now. Should I go in and get checked out. Could a blow to that area cause me to not be able to have kids? I just started thinking about this recently because I am going to get married soon, and I want to have kids. It was a long time ago that this happened. Should I be worried about this or talk to my doctor since it happened such along time ago? Any advice would be appreciated.
Does anyone know if suddenly having menstral cramps after never having them is somthing that I should worry about? They were very sevre menstral cramps. If anyone could write back it would be greatly appreciated as I am very worried over this! Thanks, marie
i am not a dr and have no clue bt am replying b/c you sound really worried. i DO not think a punch in the stomach can cause severe cramps monthly (i believe it hurt like a ***** though), and i seriously doubt it will impede your process of having kids. even if you passed out from this punch, it caused bad cramps for that cycle (which i believe could have done), i don't think you need to worry. i used to play rugby, and hat is a tough sport where getting hit in the stomach is common...some of the girls from my team have had kids (i have never tried).
it would have to be an EXTREMELY hard punch that could cause enough internal damage to your reproductive system. i have only heard of car accidents having enough force to do this.
the fact that you started having severe cramps is i think a coincidence. i didn't have cramps myself for a good 5 years and then got them. your stomach is cramping because the lining of the uterus is ripping off and expelling itself from your body. OUCH!!!
maybe look up some natural remedies on the net. ie/ camomile tea every day for a week before your period, evening primrose oil daily...i'm not sure on other remedies since i don't get stomach cramps but rather lower back pain.
anyway, i wouldn't worry i am sure you will have no problem not having kids due to this.
