Hi everyone. I am on Loestrin Fe 24, and in my 4th month. Last month, I got my period early (about a week before I started the placebo pills) and this month, it hasn't come at all. So, it's been 45 days since my last period. I have not been sexually active, so I KNOW I'm not pregnant, and I am wondering when I should be concerned enough to call my doctor.
I NEVER miss periods, never did on Yasmin or Nuvaring, and if anything, I am prone to shorter-than-usual cycles (i.e., approximately 24 days instead of the average 28) and my periods are usually still heavy, even on birth control... They have been a BIT lighter than usual on Loestrin, but still not light. So this is very unusual. I don't remember ever skipping a period, on any type of birth control. How concerned should I be, at this point? I suffer from PMDD, so I can't ever remembering WANTING my period to come, but I am worried enough at this point that I do!
Hi DKScully! I'm on Loestrin 24 Fe now (end of first pack). I'm on day 3 of the placebos and I still haven't started yet. I don't care though because my last period lasted 3 full weeks! I wonder if I'll have the same problem as you...
Loestrin24fe has the very, very frequent effect of loss of period. They say that it shortens the period to 3 days, but majority (and I mean MAJORITY) of the time (if you do any reading of other message boards), women have reported that they lose their period completely.
I can understand why you'd worry, because you're probably like, Oh No, what' if I'm pregnant? But you should know that loss of period on this pill is THE MOST common side effect, bar none of any other effect of any other pill available on the market.
