Well for the past couple of days my breasts have been killing me! It feels how they did when I was pregnant. They are so sore and my nipples are so hard they feel as if there burning inside. I do have PCOS if this is of any significance. I just started birth control 2 days ago, when I started my period, but my breasts started hurting the day before that. I was on birth control many years ago and don't remember this occuring. I don't think there is any possibility of pregnancy since I have only had sex a few times and always used condoms and I did start my period, although very light, before I started the pill. Before this I was have hemmoraging periods, thats why I started the pill this month. But my breasts didn't hurt like this in the prior months. Any ideas? Ugggghhhh help!

There can be several reasons for breast soreness, and a doctor is the best source for the answer to your question. An office exam and mammogram can not only ease your mind, but rule out possible causes.
I often have extreme breast soreness. My problem is due to PMS. I've had soreness that has lasted up to 10 days before my period, and the pain is such that it hurts when I walk. I even get a 'fever' in my breasts and they feel tight and are very sensitive. I've never been pregnant. I'm 34 and this is something that has happened for about 20 years. I have read that anti-inflammatories, like aspirin or ibuprofen can help for my problem.
Still, you should let your doctor know what's going on, especially since this is a new development in your health.

I am 30 I wonder if they would give me a mammogram. When you stated, "I even get a fever in my breasts and they feel tight and are very sensitive" that is percisely what they feel like! I took a tylenol PM to sleep and for the soreness and it didn't seem to help (as you can see I am still up.). Is tylenol an aprin product?
By boyfriend thought we should get a pregnancy test just in case but I have no other pregnancy symptoms. Well I am going to give it a couple of days and if it persists I will go to my gyno.
My breasts do this too usually a week before my period. Right now it has started 10 days before I am due and they hurt so bad and look a size bigger. I am not sure why I have such a strong reaction to my hormones. I feel your pain!
