Red face yeast infection

so i have a few questions based on the same problem. (1) i had my annual paps and was told i had a yeast infection. first off. i had no idea that i even had one. i was slightly confused since everyone talks about how terrible they were, so therefore i dont even know how long i've had it for. i'm treating it now, but not having treated it for so long: will that affect me at all? and then (2) i did have unprotected sex with my boyfriend and i just recently read an article saying males can get this aswell and the yeast infection could be passed back and forth between partners. does anyone else no anything about this? just to be safe i am going to tell him to go to the doctors just to make sure. oh and i lied: i have three questions: i thought discharge (to a certain extent) was normal. i'm just so confused and honestly don't feel comfortable enough to talk to anyone about this. my doctors a ***** and last time i left her office crying hysterically because she just isnt a pleasant person. but thats not the main problem. becasue i can change doctors! not my body!

if anyone could help me out im super stressed about the situation. and now im stressed about if i get it again, how will i know because clearly i couldn't tell this time.

thanks all.

Re: yeast infection

Before you ever had your pap-smear perform......where you itching prior to that?

I mean......Sometimes, you itch and may not have a wierd discharge. Strange, I know, but this is true.

Whenever You are itching down there....wait a day or two...if the itching is still there, go ahead and see your gynecologist.

I am not sure....if there is anything wrong with you. Since you are being treated for it right now. But, since you did say you did have sex before having the pap-test, it could be possible that your BF, might have it as well.

Do he have any kind of pain of some sort?
