Hi i am a 22 year old female. i recently moved back home to family after completing college. Since ive been home i have had a reoccuring problem. Every month (right before my period) i get really bad swelling of my inner labia and surronding tissue. This time was worst than the rest. I am so swollen to where there appears to be no opening to my vagina and my urethra opening is swollen as well. It all starts with the swelling, then advance to tenderness, soreness, redness, then burning and extreme discomfort. there is also an unpleasant creamy white discharge. The weird thing about it is that the symptoms seems to be alleviated by my having a period. But... are replaced with bad cramps. Ive tried eating more yogurt, washing my underwear in baking soda and changing to a milder soap. But..its not helping! I am not sexually active, in fact. i have never had sex. Ive also tried eliminating certain factors (soaps & detergents) that i think is causing this, but its not working. Please help. Any and all suggestions are welcomed!
the best thing to do would to see your doctor. it sounds like theres an infection. at least you can rule out an std because you arent sexually active, but it could be something natural but dangerous if you dont get it checked out. goodluck!
I had something like this once.I thought it was just a yeast infection but i just used some vagasil and the problem seemed to get better and eventually went away.i hope this might help you some.
This does sound like a severe yeast infection. Prior to a womans period, during her period and after her period is when us women are most at risk of contracting a yeast infection. It sounds like your yeast infection flares up around the time of your period. Purchase some Monistrat from your Pharmacist or Canisten. This will treat and "kill" the infection. See your doctor too for a examination.
