Vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain
I don't suppose anyone has any ideas what this could be.
I had my pap (smear) test about 5 weeks ago, then a week later got my regular period. All was fine until last Sunday when I began seeing a light show of blood, definitely coming from my vagina. Without being too detailed, it's not menstrual blood, or proper red blood - it's more like thick red mucus. There's only a small amount, not enough for me to need a tampon or sanitary towel, and it's been on and off all week. I've also noticed some mild abdominal pain although again, it's not very noticable only when I sit/lay still.
Also, I don't know if this is related but the last time I had sex 6+ months ago, it was really painful. I've had the same partner for 11 years, and we've been living seperate lives virtually so at first I thought it was down to lack of lubrication that I'd felt pain. After sex there was no bleeding, or any other symptoms - it was purely during penetration. I went to the doctors and was tested for STDs but was given the all-clear, and haven't had sex since then.
Could this be related to my pap smear, but if so why did it only start 5 weeks later and after having a normal period? The nurse said physically everything looked fine, but I haven't have the results from the pap test yet. I haven't been suffering from stress lately, although I have been on a diet.
I'd be really grateful if anyone has any ideas, although I'll probably go to the doctors tomorrow anyway.
