Can low estrogen cause...

...eye brow loss? I suspect I've had a hormone problem for a while and one of my many symptoms is slow hair growth and thinning (everywhere, if you know what I mean) and eyebrow loss. My brows have gotten pretty thin and sometimes I lose about 5 at a time, which is a lot for eyebrows. I'm pretty sure it gets worse during my period. I've had my thyroid checked many times and it keeps coming back ok so that's not the issue.

Re: Can low estrogen cause...

Hi, I know that loss of estrogen during menopause can cause hair loss (alopecia) and thinning of pubic hair. Hope this helps!

Re: Can low estrogen cause...

Ebon,

Have you discussed this with your doctor? Does he/she have you on hormone replacement therapy?

I hope I don't ever need HRT, but I'd rather go natural -- maybe some supplements and remedies, if possible.
