Exclamation Ovarian cyst larger than normal, and thickened endometrium, what does it mean?

If you want background info then look at my previou s posts but....I went into the ER the dr found an ovarian cyst measuring 3.6x2.3x5.0 cm according to ultrasonography thickened and heterogenous endometrium measing 12 mm thickness uterus and bladder are normal no evidence of significant free pelvic fluid, and according to the ct scan my cyst is 4.5x3.3x3.7 cm solid-appearing mass extending anterior from the left ovary. It also states "hemmorrhage into a cyst could account for the appearance. I guess my question is what does this all mean, the thickened endometrium and the ovarian cyst being larger than normal.

My labs came back abnormal on RDW (it was high, 15.5) and low BUN (7). As far as I know I have a UTI currently, a liver problem which needs an ultra sound so not sure what's causing it, and I still have blood in my urine. I was wondering if this cyst is causing me to have blood in my urine if so what does a bleeding cyst mean? Thanks for your help.

EDIT*I looked up thickened endometrium and it says that it's caused by too much estrogen which doesnt make sense to me considering I do not have normal periods and I go for months at a time without a period*

Re: Ovarian cyst larger than normal, and thickened endometrium, what does it mean?

Anyone? I know cysts can be normal but what's worrying me is the fact that it says I have a thickened endometrium, and somewhat solid-appearing mass ..hemorhage into a cyst could account for the appearance. And I can't find anything on the web that would explain the hemorrhage into cyst statement. And I have also had extreme pains in my lower abdomen, left AND right flank no period for 3 months now I think but the last period I did have was definately not normal. I had large LARGE clumps come out of me which were extremely painful. And the sizes of them were at least 3 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide and they were darker red and solid surrounded by fresh red blood. Could this be a symptom of something happening in my body? The period before that was "normal" just heavy flow as usual.

I agree
I would see your Ob about this.
As for blood in the urine, when I had my cysts I didnt see the blood but there was white blood cells found in my urine. The doc told me that can happen. You can also get real bad lower abdominal pain from it as well.
Have you tried the pill??

Re: Ovarian cyst larger than normal, and thickened endometrium, what does it mean?

I went to the dr today because just this morning I woke up with the worst pains ever, on my left side, mid abs, and lower abs. She thinks the cyst burst which I don't know is this a good thing or a bad thing? The only thing I'm worried about is RDW is still higher than normal, trace of protein in urine, burning upon urination and i've had diarreha to the point where im completely empty but it still feels like I need to go. They set me up with an IV because they fear I might become dehydrated. The only other problems im aware of are that my cholesterol is high, and something is wrong with my liver (dont know what it is until i get ultrasound).

Should I worry if it burst? I have an apt to see my gyno on Friday (earliest I could get). What should I possibly bring up? What caused this cyst? I believe I read that a tubal pregnancy can cause cysts, or possibly a miscarriage. Please help this sucks because this is some horrible pain!
