Re: What is normal discharge?

Can discharge cause you to be itchy?

I get discharge before my PD which starts getting really itchy. Sometimes it moves to my anus and that gets really itchy? Is this normal? Thanks!

Re: Itchy discharge?

Normal discharge shouldn't cause you to be itchy. I never noticed itching with it. When I had itching with discharge, it was a yeast infection. You can be more prone to getting yeast infections right before your period. Often, yeast infections are accompanied with a cottage cheese like discharge, but not always. I had frequent yeast infections (diagnosed at the gynecologist), and I never got the cottage cheese discharge, just the vaginal itching. I'm not sure about anal itching, though. If you have vaginal itching, you can try treating it with an OTC yeast treatment like Monistat.
