| Re: Am I pregnant?
Numerous recent tests have shown that the ONLY antibiotic that lowers the efficiency of birth control pills is Rifampin, a drug used for treating TB. So unless you took that drug, the chances that your antibiotics had any effect on your pill are tiny.
That said, even when used perfectly, the pill is only 99% effective. That means that out of 100 women using it perfectly for a year, one will become pregnant.
Take a test.
Your symptoms could be pregnancy-related, or it could be PMS. If the test is negative, and you don't get your period during the seven day break, start your next pack as usual, but go to your doctor for a blood pregnancy test.
If you are pregnant, taking the pill for a few days will not hurt your baby. If your are not pregnant, then you haven't compromised your protection.
