Stomach Pain for 6 Weeks

I've never had any stomach issues before but about 6 weeks ago on a Thursday afternoon I started having stomach pain. The stomach pain can be described as feeling like someone punched me in the stomach. I then started having Diahrea and constipation. I recently started using NuvaRing. I have gotten a cat scan, 2 ultra sounds, a colonoscopy, an Upper GI test and an MRI, pap smear. with all negative results. The only thing they saw in a blood test was that my blood tested positive for inflammation. I had a key hole surgery 3 years ago and they found excess blood in my stomach from a period that never drained but it was NOT endometriosis. Does anyone have ANY idea what could be going on? They want to perform a laparoscopy on me but I'm afraid to do that if the dr.s really don't know what they are looking for. HELP

Sorry you are having stomach problems, that's never fun. I would say I would have the laparoscopy. If you have the means (insurance, etc) I would have it done. They can tell a lot more this way than on CT scans or ultrasounds as well as do any minor repairs if needed. It is not that bad of a procedure and well worth it to ease your mind if they can find out what's possibly causing your problems and then take it from there. Good luck to you!

Re: Stomach Pain for 6 Weeks

MBee -- you are very fortunate to have aggressive docs. I've had pain/pressure for over 1 1/2 years and my OB still won't do a lap until I see a GI specialist, which it's taken me months to get an apt with and I still don't have one. I did have an abdominal u/s and pelvic u/s, but even that took 6 months of pain and multiple visits. If I were in your shoes, or even offered the lap in mine, I'd do it.
