Baking Soda for Yeast Infections...what is the Truth???

I have heard that it is both really good for relieving symptoms and a RN even suggested a bath with baking soda. But I have also read all over the internet that it is bad for YIs as it messes up the Ph and makes the infection worse.

Anyone know the truth on this?? We are in the middle of a blizzard here. I took a Diflucan almost 24 hours ago and I am still pretty uncomfortable. I would love to hear some advice since I cannot get out now to buy any OTC creams.

Thanks!!

Yes, I have read as a natural remedie to help soothe the itching. You can add 1 cup of baking soda to your bathwater. You should double check with your Dr. to be sure, though. This is to help the external symptoms. As with taking a medication, it can take sometime to work through your body. So this would be something to try asap, for some relief. Good luck!

I also am in Wisconsin, I was told to douche with water/baking soda...or water/paroxide.I guess I would but some Acidillious and some Azo Yeast, Thats what I do daily. Also, buy some REPHESH vaginal gel...It balances out the vaginal ph. My OB/GYN just told me to try bathing in baking soda , it balances out the acids in the vagina...Just dont get water "upthere" And yes, It is a Blizzard!
