I am a 63 yr. old lady, and I have just noticed after going to the bathroom, that there is a bubble like piece of skin protruding fromn my vagina. Is this a normal occurence? Should I call a health care facility? what is wrong with me? Thanks
I would get it checked by your gyno. I have heard that as we age sometimes our muscles weaken, leading to a prolapsed uterus. But I am no medical expert so this is just and idea. A prolapsed uterus is totally treatable from my understanding. Anyway, get it checked just to be sure it's not anything to be worried about. Good luck.
More than likely it is your bladder that is prolapsed(falling down)That you are seeing. The bladder is below the Uterus, and as "niknak" mentioned the uterus can also prolaps, and put added pressure on your bladder. I agree with niknak, you could see your GYN, they would be able to tell if either or both were prolapsed.
Both my Uterus and bladder were prolapsed back in the 90's and I had a hysterectomy/bladder sling surgery to repair it.
Wish you the best,
