Hi Penny: I'm sure everyone's experience is different due to pain tolerance, etc., but I've had it done twice and it wasn't bad. I felt a little "pinch" where he took each sample. After it was over, they told me I might have some mild cramps and feel a little tired, and they were right. I just took some ibuprofen and a nap when I got home and took it easy for the rest of the day. Next day I was back to normal.
I think it really depends upon the person I had it done before and it hurt like hell I cried. I didnt expect it to hurt cause I had asked someone and they told me it didnt I guess it comes down to your level of pain tolerance.
My cervical biopsy didn't hurt at all. It wasn't the most comfortable process in the entire world but there wasn't any actual pain. Later there were some mild cramps but I was able to work easy enough.
I also didn't have any pain during the procedure. It was uncomfortable (because of the speculum) but I couldn't even feel the actual biopsy part. I had very mild cramping afterwards and discharge. You should be okay if you take advil right beforehand and over the next couple of days if you need it.
Hi cmpgirl, thanks for the information. I had an endometrial biopsy done a year ago and heavy bleeding and I was so worried about having that done and it was not worth the worry. It wasn't bad at all. By the sounds of it this won't be too bad either. Thank You.
