Period pain...still can't get it straight

My period is to come April 9. It is very standard, on the dot so to speak.

However, maybe a week before it comes, I feel so fatigued. I can deal with that. What I can't deal with are the cramps. Days before it comes, I get cramps which are quite tolerable. I'm 31 y.o
The only issue is that when I get cramps, I feel like "its coming." I feel discharge etc, frequent urination all that. But I don't see anything.

I have this fear....when I got my period, I never knew what it was (my mother is really very shy about these things so she never had that "talk" with me.) My issue is that I get afraid that should I have to go somewhere & my period is scheduled to come, I will leak or something. It had happened when I was young & I think it has made a scar on my life. Yes I am protected and supplies in my bag etc...but I get scared. The first days is the worst: cramps all day, bleeding etc.

Tomm I have plans to go out & I can't really change them, and since I'm feeling these cramps, it really feels like I will get it tomm. What do I do if I get it there? And I have to walk a lot too. Sometimes my cramps are so bad I need to use the bathroom. I am told all this is normal & theres nothing I can do. But EVERY month, it comes when I NEED to do/be somewhere!!!

The only thing I guess is to wear a pad. Maybe put a heating pad over my belly to soothe the cramps? I'm always stressed out by these, anyone suffer similarly?

I wear panty liners when I suspect my period is coming. It's my way of putting my mind at ease about possibly starting in a situation where I'm unprepared.

I agree. My cycle and my PMS symptoms used to be like clockwork, but last year things changed. I have pretty severe PMS/cramps, and I have a hard time figuring out when my flow will actually start. It's just a surprise if my cramps don't alert me soon enough, so pantyliners are my routine when I think I'm getting close to starting.

Like you, I too suffered bad PMS, cramps severe. I never had a 'normal' cycle (day on the dot), but my period generally showed up every 28 to 32 days roughly.

As a side note, I later found out I had endometrosis (this was discovered by laposcopy). Painful cramps and intercourse for years. I hope none of you ladies have to deal with endo, because the surgery wasn't fun at all, nor was the healing period. My cramps did decrease significantly after the surgery. (not to derail the thread!)
