SO here's my problem. For about 3 years now I have ben experiencing chronic yeast infections. Along with that, what I thought were uti's. Out of nowhere I would experience a burning sensation, like I have to pee, and also painful urination. The pain comes at the end of urinating and there is also a distinct smell whenever I am feeling this way. I can't really discribe it but distinct in the way that your pee smells if you eat asparugus. These symptoms would sometimes turn in to a yeast infection or go away in a day if I drank a lot of water and peed a lot. In the past few months, I've had "episodes" that are lasting much longer and more frequently. The only thing that stops the burning is to take azo standard pills. Which help. The most recent tim eI went to the doctor and she said that I didn't have a yeast infection or a uti but she gave me a precription for an antibiotic anyways and it seemed to cure it. UNTIL about two weeks later when it happened again. I was tested for STD's about 8 months ago and they were all negative and I haven;t slept with anyone else besides my boyfriend since then. So my question is, Does anyone know what the heck might be wrong with me? It's been very frustrating these past few months, to say the least. I was thinking of going and having blood work done. But Im not sure what to ask them to look for.
Thank you so much for reading all of this, I know it's long
Sounds more like bacteriosis...it feels like yeast, smells like yeast...but ISNT yeast and you wont test positive for it....
Your doc needs to do a test for it and get you back on antibiotics to cure it if thats what it is.....yeast is a fungal infection...bacteriosis is a bacteria infection- they are treated completely differently...go back to your doctor and demand some answers!
Have you thought about seeing a urologist? They are more likely to be able to help you pinpoint what's wrong. Their urine testing is more comprehensive than that of a regular doctor.
I've been going to a urologist since I had a kidney stone late last year and he is pretty good. From what you're going through, I really think a urologist is the way to go. Since your regular doctor has been pretty much useless, it's time to try something new.
Thanks so much for your responses. Another problem is that i am a poor college student and do not have much money for specialists and my parents can't help me out. I am going to try something new soon though. Hopefully when i graduate I can find a job with good health issurance and then I can figure out whats wrong once and for all.
