No period, help?

Hi!

So I got my period roughly 4 years ago,
and it was always irregular.

In the past.. 3 years, I have had my period probably.. 5 times.
This past Feb and March I got it back, but now it appears to be gone, again.

I've gone to a doctor because of this,
and I got an ultrasound, and nothing was wrong.

Should I:

a) Request to go see a specialist?
b) Ask my doctor / the specialist if I should go on birth control to make it regular?

And...

What are the chances of me being infertile?

What other things would cause this? I have stress / anxiety / depression issues, and I don't know if this would make it stop, and how you tell if it would.

My doctor also said that my sex hormone levels are very low. Does this limit my growth? Really I haven't noticed any like.. growth in my breasts. Whereas when I got my period, there was some.

Would me not having my period affect this? I've heard that it would, and it would make sense if my hormone levels are very low.

Can anyone provide some sort of advice or information? My appointment isn't until the 12th.

It's really starting to bug me. I don't want something to be wrong with me.

Re: No period, help?

i've been regular for maybe 10-15 years and for the first time became irregular. its been 4 months since i've had my period. i have been seeing my doctor alot. he did some bloodwork, checking to see if it might be a thyroid issue. my tests came back clean. i, too, had an ultrasound - pelvic and transvaginal - and the test came back clean again.

doc says one only needs to get their period every 6 months. anything other than that needs medical attention. i'll be going on birth control to regulate my period if i don't get it naturally this month. i would suggest letting your doctor know how worried you are and asking for birth control to get back on track. it will give you peace of mind.
