For the last two weeks (since the end of my period) I have been suffering from pain under my arms. At first it was quite painful in my breasts. I have large breasts and they do have little blocked hair follicles all over the underside that sometimes get red and blistery. The pain was mostly in the outer quadrant of the breast and up into the underarm. I don't feel any lumps under my arms. Just this burning kind of pain.
Tonight I started sweating profusely as the pain got really bad. I've taken some advil to stop inflammation, it does help with the pain but I can still feel a 'pressure' under my arm.
I am 37 years old. Do you think it might be hormonal? Or a breast infection inside? I had this happen 2004, it would go on for a couple weeks every month usually before my period, I was in the hospital for a while with a different problem and they did a scan on my lungs and noticed the large lymph nodes under my arms and did test me for cancer which came back negative.
I had blood tests three days ago, for my thyroid and a blood work up. The doctor didn't call me with any results which he usually does if something is wonky, so I assume I don't have an 'infection'.
Does anyone else have this and know what the issue is? The day before the pain started I woke up soaked with sweat. Ugh.
I went to the doctor and he didn't feel any enlarged lymph nodes, he said my breasts were 'ropey'. It really hurt when he was prodding them. Then he changed the subject and didn't really talk about it because I was there for something else!
