When you get in a confrontation, your system releases a stress hormone called cortisol. Cortisol can interfere with weight control and other hormones such as the ones that can confuse your cycle.
Like I said, just pay attention to how long it lasts this time and if it is heavier than normal. Also, if it happens again without any apparent factors, get checked out.
I was 36 when I started having the periods too close together and too heavy on a regular basis. It got to where I missed one or two days of work in a month. What they did for me was D&C with Depo Provera shots (the alternative was a hysterectomy). It has worked for me for 15 years.
