Last November and December 07 no period after regular ones since the age of 12. January spotting, February infection! Doctors for check up and all came back negative (thrush clamidia etc etc) she referred me to gyni at that point. Period came back from February and doctor gave me something to clear the itch and white discharge (more than usual) and told to keep the gyni appt. Since then i have had seven internal examinations and like most women dont like them and i also have difficulty with them and this caused vaginitis through stress so the gyni told me. He said since the periods are back to normal (which they were) to have another appt in November 08 and if all was normal by then, then ok and nothing more to be done. I was sooooo stressed out i needed valium to go and see him as the earlier appt with his registrar suggested a hysteroscopy (a camera jobby). Well, i am now into April and a week late again and hoping beyond hope this is due to stress last month. I have to keep a record of periods from now til my next appt. The vaginitis isnt as bad although i do get a little discomfort behind my belly button. Is this the menopause or what? Driving me mad!
I'm with you. Mine comes whenever. It was every two months. Now nothing since April 1st. At the time Dr. did blood work and it did not show Menopause. But she said that can change anytime. I have alot of pain from previous pelvic surgeries and failed back surgery so who knows what is related. I'm 43 and the Dr. said this could go on for 10 years before Menopause. I think you need to go a full year without our period to be considered in Menopause.
Hessie thanks for your kind reply. I think i am just worried about the camera job. It was so funny last time i went. The previous appt was with the gynis registrar and, of course, they were playing safe and said the camera would be needed. When i went to see the gyni he gave me the option and considering what state i was in at the time i chose not to do that yet! Hindsight tells me i think i should have done, but hey ho! I am wondering if the stress of that appt which was on 21 May has delayed this period! Cancer of course comes to mind but people, and professionals tell me that the amount of examinations i have had and blood tests etc something would have shown up, but i cant convince myself of that! Born worrier i am! At present i have to keep a record of periods and with this one being a week late already looks like the camera job will come in November! Thanks again for your kind reply, nice to know someone else out there is in the same boat! Someone to chat to is nice dont you think?
Have you had the bloodwork done? Your doc can order TSH tests, for hormones to determine how close to menopause you are...it will let him know where on the "fertility" scale you are as well...
MSNik, what are TSH tests? I have had two Full Blood Count tests done since January, would these include the TSH test do you think? Thanks for the reply.
