I have an inverted nipple which has been this way since puberty. Since having children I have been getting a creamy thick discharge when the nipple is gently squeezed for cleaning. It smells ever so slightly cheesy.
My doc has felt for lumps and all is clear. She has referred me to a bresat clinic, which I now have to wait for an appointment.
Obviously hoping it is innocent, but has anyone had an innocent experience of this?
How much is the secretion? Could it just be natural body oils that have settled in because of the indentation? Or perhaps oils mixed with lotions you might be applying?
I had this and it was just hyper-secretion in the breast duct. It got messy so I had that duct removed. No biggie. Different if it is bloodstained, that can mean a growth, but plain creamy stuff is usually OK. Sera
It only comes out when I squeeze the inverted nipple to get it to come out, to clean it. I need to clean it as it gets a little sticky from being inverted. But the other stuff that comes out, sort of comes out in a long thick line, a bit like eye ointment would, but thicker.
I never get any come out on its own and there is no blood.
I think you are fine. I actually remember reading somewhere that a bit of creamy discharge is nothing of concern. Of course if it's a lot and for sure if you are concerned keep the appt. That's what they are there for.
What has your doctor said about the inverted nipple? I'm curious because I have one and passed the mamo with flying colors. I didn't always have it though, just for about a year. I wonder what caused it.
I have had the inverted nipple since puberty, so nothing has been said about that. I always put it down to somehting inside being too short and so keeping the nipple inverted.
