| Help! Dermoid on left ovary
Hi, i really hope someone can share their similar experience to put my mind at ease.
I had a miscarriage a few weeks ago and when I went in for a f/u ultrasound, they found a dermoid on my left ovary. I went back two weeks later for another ultrasound to see if it had grown and sure enough it is now just under 2 inches.
The doc said that I will have to have it laparascopically removed as soon as possible.
I am scared to death, just because I have never been under anesthesia and I have some crazy thing called Pressure Urticaria (hives caused by pressure) and I worry that I would have some kind of reaction to anesthesia. Do they do anything in advance to make sure you won't react poorly to anesthesia?
Also I have read that dermoids are generally benign. I hope so! But how do they know it's a dermoid just from looking at the ultrasound?
I am usually not an alarmist but this thing has me so worried. Thanks!
