I had to have a catheter as well when in labor with my DD. Only because I had an epidural though and was not allowed to get up to go to the bathroom. It did not stay in, they just put it in to do the job and took it right back out. The only problem I had was when I came home from the hospital, I was on my way into the bedroom to go to the master bathroom and made it about half way across the room before I just started peeing right there. I don't know what the heck happened!?!? Most embarrassing!!!
Anyway, it got better but never completely went away. I still have that problem if I laugh, cough, sneeze....whatever. It's quite annoying. Not sure if this is what you are talking about or not, but I can say it's no fun and I am afraid that this time around it will just get worse!
