I feel like I'm having symptoms of a yeast infection (vagina itches and burning during urination), but I've been having lower abdominal pain, as well...almost feels like menstrual cramps, but I'm nowhere near my period. Anyone experienced abdominal pain with a yeast infection before? Could it be something else?
Some other info just incase...I recently got back on my birth control (Yaz) for the past 2 weeks after being off of it for approximately 6 months (my husband and I were trying to conceive...decided to get back on Yaz to lose some weight). Don't know if that could have something to do with it...
Are you having abnormal discharges? If so you probably do have a yeast infection. I think if you suspect you might have an infection of any kind you should definitely go to a gynecologist and see if they can determine what type and how to cure it.
Of course, I thought I had a yeast infection because my vagina itches and burns but all the tests come back negative. The last doctor I went to told me to apply Vitamin E oil to relieve the itching, and it does help a lot.
The cramps could be related to the birth control pills.
But I'd go see a doctor to consult all the symptoms.
Hope you feel better!
I'm not really having any discharge, it's mostly itching and burning during urination. I thought maybe the BC could have something to do with the cramps because I've had a yeast infection before with no cramping. I agree, I'll call my doctor just to be safe. Thanks a lot for your help.
yeah, I don't remember cramping with a yeast infection either.
You know, I had the same symptoms, burning and itching without abnormal discharge, and none of the doctors I went to could diagnose anything. It seems I have some sort of vulvodynia, though I haven't found a specialist who can determine that. However I have been able to control the itching and burning by using Desitin ointment and by clearing the vulva with water after urination. Also the vitamin E that a doctor recommended seems to be helping. I'm sharing what happened to me just in case it helps, but it could still be a yeast infection seeing as they could have different symptoms or it could be due to some other condition.
