Menstrual cycle and exercise

I've always heard that exercise helps cramps, but for me, it's the opposite. I really like to run, and when i go, i usually go for 3 miles. A couple years ago, I got this terrible and very menstrual feeling lower stomach cramp. Nothing i did helped, so i quit running. I started up again a couple months ago, and I still get this cramp and it is absolutely unbearable, and the weirdest part is when i get back from running and use the bathroom, i find a spot of blood.

So many people have told me that the cramp and my menstrual cycle are not related, but i'm starting to think they are. It seems like it doesn't matter where i am in my cycle, because i almost always bleed a little.

is something wrong?

Re: Menstrual cycle and exercise

Bleeding and pain when you run, even if you are not near your period?

That is not normal. Talk to a gynecologist about it.
