Question Pregnancy after cervical surgery.

hi my name is carolyn & i'm new to this. i do have question though? when i had my pap done 5 yrs. ago i had to have surgery to have a large piece of my cerviz cut out or to have a full hescto. no freezing available to me. anyways it's been 5 years & i've never even thought that i was pregnant. last month i was 3 weeks late & i know i was pregnant. they've told me that i can get pregnant but my body won't hold it. why after 5 years? can you cervix grow back? is there anything i can do to have more kids?...caroline

Did you have a cone biopsy or a hysterectomy? If you just had a cone, then it is possible to get pregnant, but the doctor will have to take measures to help your body maintain the pregnancy. The procedure is called a circlet, or something like that.

If you had a hysterectomy (assuming the cervix and uterus were removed) then no, you cannot get pregnant.

If they just took the cervix, then it is possible to conceive, but see what I said above.
