7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

Hi everyone. Just trying to find some peace of mind while I wait out this week! Thursday I had a Ultra Sound and detected no heartbeat. The doctor seemed certain I miscarried. BUT I am not bleeding AT ALL, no cramping, just feeling nauseaus. I read on here that some woman can't detect the heartbeat til 10 weeks? Anyone have any stories?? Thanks

Kasey

Re: 7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

When I first found out I was pg and was scheduled for my first u/s by my LMP I was 6w6d and there was no h/b I flipped out. But my the scan I was only 5w6d pg. I was scheduled to come back in a week for a repeat when I went back the h/b was there I was 7w1d then so it could be it was really to soon to see the h/b. I hope this is the case for you alot of women on here has had the same thing happen and it all worked out fine.
Good luck

Re: 7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

Thank you for the reply, I hope that's the case, because I don't remeber my LMP. I know it was around early August. I've just become so attatched already, it completly broke my heart, but I'm having faith. It's just nice to see other people going through the same thing it comes out ok, ya know?

Re: 7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

Hi there,

I agree with Tami. I haven't experienced that personally, however my doctor told me that it's usually not until AROUND 7 weeks when they can detect the h/b by ultrasound, so it very well could've just been too early. Even if your dates are off by a couple days, you could've just missed it! Try not to worry. Good luck with everything!

Re: 7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

Hi there,

I also had an u/s on Thursday. I am approx. 6w5d, they told me going in that I would probably not hear the heartbeat yet because I was right on the brink (At the u/s the baby only measured 5w5d so I have to go back to have another). I scheduled to go back next week for another u/s and the u/s tech told me that even at 7w5d they MAY OR MAY NOT be able to see the heartbeat so not to stress if they couldn't see anything next week either.

So try to stay positive, I'm suprised that the doctor seemed certain you had miscarried especially with no other signs of miscrriage and that you are still feeling nauseus.

Try your best not to worry, I know how hard that is! I will keep you and your little peanut in my thoughts! Let us know how things turn out!
Sarah

Re: 7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

For me, things didn't work that way. Had an u/s at 5w3d and things went well for the next 2 weeks. Had another u/s at 7w4d and there was no hb at that time, but we had good growth from the previous u/s. Had to go back after another week and the sac grew like it should (8 1/2weeks), but the embryo didn't (still measuring 7w4d). There was no hb at that time either. We had to make a decision to miscarry naturally or have a D/C. The dr was very supportive in our decision and he performed another u/s for us prior to the D/C. It showed the same as the one before it. I still felt all the pregnancy symptoms and wasn't cramping or bleeding at that time.
I know that sometimes dates can be off and that's a reason not to see a hb. I do know too from infertility treatments, that if dates are right, most of the time a hb should be seen between 6-7weeks. I sure hope things work out for you at your next appointment and ultrasound. Hang in there and good luck to you and your family.

Re: 7 weeks pregnant and No Heart Beat?? Should I worry??

I had the same with my dd. I was around 5 weeks and started bleeding. Went to the ER, they did a regular U/S and vaginal U/S. Couldn't see a heartbeat. I went back a couple weeks later for spotting, at around 7 weeks, they could barely see it. The tech said that it wasn't always visible that early. When she came out to the waiting room, to let me go home, she said there was barely a flicker, it was really hard to see, but she wanted to make sure I knew there was. My dd was fine and is now a vibrant 7 year old.

I hope everything works out for you.
