Sharp pain in left side
At the beginning of last month, just after my period had ended, I woke up with a sharp pain in my left side. It wasn't terrible, but sharp and made me wince. It lasted several seconds and I haven't had it since. I wondered if it could've been my ovary, maybe a cyst, since it was on my left side. That's usually where I feel ovulation cramping, though being right after my period, it was 2 weeks too early for that. It was also sharp versus a dull cramping from ovulation. I just figured it was gas or something since that can cause side pain. I didn't get my period this month though and am a little concerned since I've been very regular the past several months. It's not unheard of for me to miss periods - I used to often skip them, but I've been taking evening primrose oil which helps with PMS and helps balance hormones naturally. This has regulated my cycles pretty well. What is strange is I've been really tired and moody, like PMS, but no period. Maybe I'm overworrying but I wonder if the pain is connected, and if it can be determined by a PAP smear if everything is ok in there. I don't want to have kids anytime soon, but at age 27, I'd like to know for the future if my fertility is in check if I ever do want to have kids. I get regular periods - even before taking the oil supplement, I got one every other month. Is there any other way to tell if everything is as it should be? I'm not in a sexual relationship now, but was a few years ago and never got pregnant even though we had unprotected sex several times.
