Vaginal odor/burning

My girlfriend (of 2+ years) has been experiencing some problems. Sometimes pain while having sex (deep inside -or- sometimes stinging or burning sensation), metallic smell~ which at times becomes very very strong. Itching often too.
The burning/stinging seems to be correlated to the itching-- ie: raw (from scratching) or dried out (causing itching) skin, put in contact with irritants like vag. fluids or (other) lubricants.
she takes adderall IR, & Yaz- but had the symptoms before taking these.
This has been going on for nearly a year-- due to doctor/insurance issues any resolution progress is constantly delayed. She also recently developed a brown discharge. So- what I'm asking for (since these cases are rather similar) is if you ultimately resolved the issues and might have any input as to what was going on with you (or might possibly be going on with her).

thank you

Re: Vaginal odor/burning

There should be a Planned Parenthood clinic in your local area. Tell her to go there for BC. Whatever you tell them is your business but when I was 19-26 and had NO available affordable Health ins. I received good care through planned parenthood. You pay according to your income. They will provide her with the proper BC and will help her with whatever infection(s) she may have. If there is Odor and discharge there is infection of some sort. You can try otc yeast infection medicines but what you describe doesn't sound like yeast infection to me. It sounds to me like possibly a bacterial infections which would require a anti-biotic. Some vaginal infections can cause permanent sterility or Pelvic Inflammitory Disease which can also lead to infertility and CAN be life threatening. I hope your girlfriend gets the medical attention she needs soon. Good Luck and GO to planned parenthood. Oh and I live in Texas so I ASSUME you have planned parenthood or and equivalant.
