Hello,
I'm 29 years old and I got my period on October 12th, October 28th and November 8th again. I should also mention that in October I forgot to take the pill for 3 days and took one the minute I remembered (it was October 11th). Could that be causing all this? Would really appreciate your feedback on this as I can only contact my doctor on Tuesday
Well, the short answer is yes. Your period starts when the hormone levels drop, so missing 3 pills could easily cause you to start. By the time you remembered and took a pill on the 11th, the process had already started and you got a period on the 12th. Now, by the 28th, you'd have been about mid-cycle, and that's when a lot of women experience a natural drop in hormone levels and get some breakthrough bleeding. I always got it for a day or two of spotting and then nothing again until I was due again for my period. November 8th was about 4 weeks from your "period" on the 11th, so sort of when you were due again.
Thank you for the answer!
The thing is, on the 28, it was not just a 2-dat bleeding but a regular period for 5 days....I am a bit scared and really can't wait to visit the doctor to see whether everything is fine
I'm sure you're fine, but it's very important to take the pill every day. It can really mess up your cycles if you don't. Your doctor may tell you to stop taking them again and start over when you have another period (ugh, I know!). Try calling them the next day the office is open because this kind of advice can usually be given over the phone without the need to make an appointment.
Thank you so much for your answer!
Since the 11th I did not take the pill anymore and was planning to get an appointment with my doctor sometime soon....Howevere, his office is closed tomorrow but will try to contact him directly to see whether I can get an appointment on Monday. I think I never looked forward to meeting him as much as I do right now
But really appreciate your help....it managed to put my mind at ease a bit, so thanks again!
