accuracy of pregnancy test?
I was on the pill for only 3 months, and the 2nd and 3rd month I took it continuously in order to skip my period on vacation. After I finished that pack I got off the pill. I got a very light period shortly after but it was so light I wasn't sure it was my actual period and then I had a hard time figuring out when my period should be. Since that bleeding it's been 7 weeks with no period.
My question is, my husband and I had sex after I think my October period was already about a week late (but it may have actually been due). We were careful, but I still wasn't on the pill.
About 12 days later I had literally maybe a few hours of extremely light brownish blood that I saw only when I wiped (never even stained a pantyliner).
Long story short, I just took my third pregnancy test in a row (meaning 3 days in a row) that was negative. This is exactly 3 weeks after intercourse, about 10 days after what could have been implantation bleeding, and at least 2 weeks after I should have gotten a period. Is this too early to test?
I do have a gyn appointment in 2 weeks and will test at home again in another week, but can I feel fairly confident that these negatives are true? Considering fertile couples have a 25% chance of conceiving at a women's most fertile time of the month, I figure my odds are probably lower than that (but since coming off the pill I can't tell when I ovulated, or even if I did yet, and I know you can get pregnant any time of the month). But by 3 weeks after sex and a week and a half after possible implantation AND a missed period, I figured I would show positive by now, and since not just 1 but 3 tests were negative and I have NO symptoms such as tender breasts or nausea or anything, I wonder if odds are I'm most likely in the clear.
(*I have had a lot of intestinal gas for the last week or two, worse in the last few days, but I also started taking a whole new regimen of vitamins and eating more vegetables two weeks ago and a started new very high dose probiotic this week, and I hadn't been taking vitamins at all before and was only taking a lower dose of acidophilus inconsistently, so I figured my system is getting used to the new stuff.)
