Very irregular periods - Women's Health Message Board

ok so i've been dating my g/f for almost a year and a half now. She has a history of having abnormal time in between periods, even up to two months without having one then having one. Well now she is in a spell of not having one for 3 months now. We mess around a fair amount but dont really have intercourse, granted it has slipped in before. However she has no symptoms of pregnancy and its been a couple of months since i've been in her at all. Shes a very small girl at 94lbs. I've been told this can have an effect. Im just posting this cause 3 months just seems really long.

I'm 19 and i've gone 8 months with out a period before. I had problems because of it. I would get sick and be in pain all the time. My OB/GYN said i had PCOS, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome it's not a big deal but it does keep you from having a period. I would tell Her to go see an OB/GYN just to make sure it isn't something more serious. Usually taking birth control regularly will not only help keep her from getting pregnant, but it will also make sure she has her period every month.
