Prolonged light bleeding
Hi, I am 39 years old. I have had light bleeding for nearly two months. During the two months, I had a normal period lasting for 7 days. Have seen family doctor and a gyn. Have taken hormones (norethisterone, a kind of progestrone) for 2 weeks but the light bleeding is still there.
Pelvic ultrasound says I have a fibroid at uterine fundual region, containing no color signal. Uterus normal in size, endometrium not thickened (0.9-1 cm thick), no other focal mass lesion in the uterus detected, both ovaries of normal size, no mass lesion in both ovaries detected, no intraluminal lesion detected.
What could cause the prolonged light bleeding? I am a virgin (with no prior sexual experience). The doctors look unwilling to do more indepth examination (e.g. biopsy etc.) for me and put me on hormones treatment. But the light bleeding is still there. I am a bit scared. If it is due to polyps, can this be shown on pelvic ultrasound? Thanks.
