testing vaginal pH

If I'm wanting to get test strips to test the pH of my vagina, do I need to have a special kind? Or can I just use regular pH testing strips (like the kind you'd use for urine, saliva, etc.)?

Actually, vagisil created a sort of product that tests vaginal PH. You can probably find it in the feminine hygiene aisle in your local drugstore. I personally wouldn't rely on those kinds of products though.

Re: testing vaginal pH

Yeah, I know about the vagisil test...but if you buy pH strips in bulk quantities they're a LOT cheaper (with the vagisil kit you can test 3 times but it's almost 15 bucks). I've actually read journal articles with studies on the effectiveness of at-home vaginal pH testing and the results were almost identical to what you'd get at the doctor's office.

Your best bet is medical supply stores, and checking your local pharmacy. Your pharmacist will probably tell you where you can find them, and what pharmacies in your location carry them.
