Unhappy Low estrogen in 20s, caused by BC pills
Hello everyone,

I'm 27 years old and have been diagnosed by my gyno as having low estrogen. She made the diagnosis visually, saying I have the vagina of an "80 year old," meaning I have vaginal atrophy. She said it was caused by my birth control pills (which I have taken since I was 13 for heavy periods). But I don't understand how birth control pills can CAUSE low estrogen.

Is there anyone out there who has experienced this?

Do you know if the birth control pills were synthetic or progesterone based and if they surpressed or convinced your body you were pregnant? I can only imagine she is thinking a synthetic supressed your body's estrogen.
