I'm having a period at the moment. On day two of my period I passed something that I am worried about and is just strange. Sorry to be to the point but it was like a mini chicken fillet only quite thin, about 8cm long. It was kind of thread vainy too. It was kind of white and clearish like flesh. It sounds gross but I actually felt it come out and went to see what it was. It was definitely not a clot or a bit of tampon or anything else that you may expect during a period and it totally freaked me out!! I went to the doctors and took 'the thing' with me. She had no idea! Her only question was could I have been pregnant but it's not likely as my partner had a vasectomy last year following our third child. Does anyone have any idea or experienced anything similar. My doc didn't seem worried but I definitely am worried, it's just NOT normal.

Cat1977: That is gross to hear and I feel for you. I know these things are freaky! I think it sounds like it could have been build up of the endometrial lining or a cyst that burst and came out. I assume you're still ovulating. It could have been excess egg mucus or even 2 eggs. I'm going through menopause right now and last year I passed some huge mucus blob that freaked me out!!!

Strange things go on in there sometimes. Did you have any pain or strange smells with it? Another thing that it could have been was something related to having a yeast infection. It's strange that the doctor didn't seem to be alarmed by it. When was your last pap smear? Did the doctor even examine you? I guess you'll just have to keep your eyes out in future weeks/months to see if it happens again. Good luck.
