Bleeding

I had a colposcopy about seven days ago. I didn't have any bleeding or cramping at all. My doctor told me to not have intercourse for five days to make sure everything healed. I followed her orders, and had sex yesterday (6 days later), with no bleeding and cramping. I had sex again today, which resulted in heavy bleeding. I am concerned about the bleeding and am worried about infection. Is this a concern, or a routine occurence? I find it strange that I didnt have any problems until 7 days later. Any advice?

Tatianana,

Your procedure (colposcopy) should have relatively mild side effects etc.
I think? I would contact my doctor. Also is it time for your menstrual cycle?
